I’m Jose, though most people who know me well call me Pancho. I’m a husband to an amazing wife and a father to a beautiful baby boy. They’re the reason behind everything I do.

I was born and raised in San Diego, where I grew up surfing and exploring the coastline from Southern California down through Baja California, Mexico. I’ve always been drawn to visual storytelling; photography and multimedia quickly became my favorite classes in high school. My first photographic love was surf and travel photography. Marrying a Massachusetts girl eventually brought me to the East Coast.

I’ve always been family-oriented, but becoming a father opened my eyes to just how incredible — and fleeting — these moments truly are. That realization now shapes everything about the way I photograph.
